Our Community Fridge
The Open Door Exmouth Community Fridge is a space where surplus food is shared to reduce waste and support local residents. Although known as a ‘Community Fridge’ the space includes a fridge, freezer and shelved larder which holds fresh produce, baked goods, and non-perishables donated by local supermarkets, businesses, and individuals. By working together, we can save good food from going to landfill and make a positive impact on the environment and our community.
Who It Helps
Our Community Fridge is open to everyone, ensuring that no food goes to waste while helping those who may be struggling to make ends meet. Whether you need a helping hand or simply want to support sustainable living, the fridge is a welcoming resource for all.
How It Works
Depending on what is available, we will inform you on quantities that you can take (usually five items). Keep an eye on our social media page as some days we have more than others.
Is It Free to Use?
Yes. However, it costs us £7500/year to run the Community Fridge, so we are always grateful for cash donations where possible.
When Is the Community Fridge Open?
Mondays, 10am-3pm
Tuesdays, 10am-12pm
Wednesdays, 10am-1pm
Fridays, 10am-3pm
Every 1st Saturday of the month, 9.30am-10.30am
Every 3rd Saturday of the month, 9.30am-12.30pm
