Our main Community Hub is based in Exmouth town centre on the corner of Church Street and South Street. The postcode is EX8 1PE. We also deliver Men’s Shed from Clayton House on Salterton Road, our Wednesday Craft Room from the Old Gospel Hall on Hamilton Road and Haven from Exmouth Community College, Green Close site.

Our main Community Hub office is open Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm. If the main door is closed, please ring us on 01395 224218.

The Community Café is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 9.30am – 3pm and the third Saturday of each month, 9.30am-12.30pm from the Community Hub, Church Street, Exmouth. The Community Fridge is available during these times and also the first Saturday of each month, 9.30am-10.30am.

Our Craft Café and Community Fridge is open on Tuesdays, 10am-12.30pm, from the Community Hub.  The Craft Room at the Old Gospel Hall, Hamilton Road, is open every Wednesday,10am-3pm. Times may vary during August, please call ahead to check.

Parent Hub Café is open every Thursday, termtime only, 10am-12.30pm, from the Community Hub. Our Baby Bank and Community Fridge are also available during this time.

Men’s Shed is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 9.30am-4pm from Clayton House, Salterton Road.

Toast Youth Café runs every Tuesday and Thursday in termtime, 3.30pm-5.30pm. We run pop-up session in some of the school holidays. Contact us for more details.

Sadly not, however the nearest car park to our Community Hub is a 1-2 minute walk away: London Hotel Car Park, 17 Union St, Exmouth. EX8 1HZ.

We have a range of volunteer roles in our café, including washing up, coffee bar duties, serving tables, helping with the community fridge, 1:1 support work, befriending, sorting donations and laundry and more.

Our other services include volunteering roles such as youth support in Haven or Toast, facilitating and supporting craft activities at our Craft Room and coming alongside parents and children at Parent Hub. Contact us to find out more.

It depends what we need! Our Support Service often need new underwear, specific items of clothing and sleeping bags, however it’s important to contact us to check. We have a very little storage so struggle to take big quantities. We do not accept any electrical items, duvets, duvet covers, pillows or pillow cases. Please do not drop items to us without checking first.

We will take donations of cupboard food items for our Community Fridge as long as it is before its ‘use by’ or ‘best before date’. We will happily take surplus fruit and vegetables from gardens or allotments.

Men’s Shed will take donations of timber and may also take donations hand tools and power tools but please call first to check. Men’s Shed can be contacted directly on 07508 602939 or by email menshed@opendoorexmouth.org.uk

All our services and activities are free of charge however, there are some associated costs depending on the service:

Our Community Café provides a low-cost menu of drinks and food and free meals are available for clients who have been assessed through our Support Service. We also provide free meals to children during the holidays who have been referred to us by their school or other agency.

Regular Men’s Shed Users users are encouraged to contribute to a tea/coffee fund which £1.50/session.

Where possible, we ask users of the Craft Café and Craft Room to donate £2 towards craft resources.

The Parent Hub Café provides free drinks and snacks for children. Low-cost refreshments are also available for parents.

No – just turn up! Our doors are open to all and you will receive a warm welcome.

Yes! Our Support Team are available Monday, Wednesday, Friday in our Community Café. Just let the person on the door know that you want to speak to a Support Worker. There may be a short wait but we will provide you with a drink and get to you as soon as possible.

Our Support Team will work with you to assess your situation and do what they can to help. We have showers and laundry facilities on-site and we can help you with clothing and a sleeping bag. We can help with hot meals and encourage you to use the Community Fridge. We will put you in contact with agencies that can help, make referrals and support you with form-filling and benefits applications. We do not provide emergency shelter but will refer you to the Rough Sleeper Navigators should you find yourself on the streets.

Not at all. We run as a normal café. The main difference is that we have an amazing team of volunteers who are all carrying out different roles including a welcome door person. We are proud of our café, especially that we can provide such a safe, inclusive and welcoming space for all.

Absolutely not. Our volunteers and service users are a wonderful mixture of people who have a Christian faith, different faiths and none. Our values of love, kindness and compassion are our heartbeat. We are committed to the Faithworks Charter and are very clear that our role is not to impose faith on anyone. We will treat all individuals with dignity, respect and kindness regardless of their background, beliefs or circumstances. We always recognise and value the diversity within our organisation, and the community we serve.

Yes we will hire our venue but will not accept parties. Availability is limited but please contact us for details.
